Part 5/10:
The architecture was as functional as it was beautiful. A six-story tower topped with a shiny copper roof provided panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and Lake Delaware, serving as an observatory. The estate was equipped with water tanks to ensure a continuous water supply and was designed to accommodate seasonal living; sections facing the sea could be closed off during winter, with winterized areas oriented towards Lake Delaware, complete with dining and kitchen facilities. This thoughtful design allowed year-round use, minimizing heating and maintenance challenges.
