Part 7/10:
The interior of Kildesart was equally spectacular. The central hall was a three-story atrium, flooded with natural light through skylights, surrounded by a mezzanine level accessible via ornate carved wooden staircases. Decorated with mythic statues representing sea gods and goddesses, the grand foyer set an awe-inspiring tone. A massive marble fireplace, featuring an intricate sculpture of Neptune, enhanced the majestic ambiance.
The mansion housed multiple dining rooms, including a large main hall for formal dinners, a smaller breakfast room, and a winter dining area for offseason gatherings. Other luxurious features included a serene library, a playroom for O'Day’s children, a billiard room, and a well-equipped gym—a rarity at the time.
