Part 7/11:
Marion Castle stands as a magnificent four-and-a-half-story fortress of stone covered with stucco, built on a steel frame. Its asymmetrical layout includes towers and a steeply sloped roof with ornate copper peaks—evoking a fairytale castle. The façade is punctuated by superbly crafted Gothic-style windows, along with decorative stone balustrades and elaborate rooflines shimmering under the sunlight.
Originally encompassing 4.5 acres stretching to the shoreline, the estate featured formal gardens and vast lawns enclosed by stone walls. It was designed to be an elegant retreat where Marion could relax, entertain, and enjoy panoramic views of Long Island Sound.
