November 29 PDB Afternoon Bulletin: Political Threats, Military Appointments, and Geopolitical Shifts
Rising Tensions and Threats Against U.S. Officials
As November draws to a close, the political climate in the United States appears increasingly volatile. Reports emerging from President-elect Trump’s transition team highlight a disturbing trend: nearly a dozen of Trump’s high-profile cabinet nominees and appointees have been targeted by bomb threats and swatting incidents in recent weeks. Among those affected are prominent figures such as Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, who was on her way home in New York when her residence received a bomb threat that prompted a swift law enforcement response. Luckily, no explosive devices were found.
