Part 5/12:
Inspired by the timeless elegance of the 18th-century French aristocratic estates, George and Eleanor envisioned Miramar as a "small palace" overlooking the Atlantic. Trumbauer’s design was meticulous and regal, featuring a limestone façade and symmetrical layout shaped like the letter 'H', creating a central courtyard opening to the sea. Every element was crafted to evoke France’s ancien régime, with detailed pediments, Ionic columns, and handcrafted finery.
