Marshall Erdman: Innovator in Prefabrication
Marshall Erdman, established in 1946, distinguished himself by pioneering innovative building techniques, particularly the use of prefabricated components. Prefabrication involves manufacturing building parts off-site in controlled environments and then assembling them on location. This approach significantly reduces construction time, lowers costs, and improves quality control.
Erdman shared Wright’s vision for efficient, cost-effective housing and became an ideal partner in realizing this ambitious project. Their partnership began in earnest in 1954 when Wright discovered Erdman was already selling modest, prefabricated homes—an area ripe for creative expansion.
