Marketed as "Prefab No. 1," this single-story L-shaped residence exemplified the blend of practicality and aesthetic appeal. Priced at just $20,000—equivalent to roughly $230,000 today—it was an affordable option for middle-income families.
Designed as both functional and visually engaging, the house featured a gabled bedroom wing and a flat-roofed living area centered around a large stone fireplace. Wright’s choice of standard, accessible materials, such as Andersen windows and Pella doors, helped keep costs low without sacrificing quality. He planned to personally inspect each finished home, often applying his signature red brick only to those meeting his rigorous standards.
