Part 7/11:
The Absence of a Clear Rebuilding Strategy
One of the most disconcerting aspects of the Saints' current situation is the lack of a clear, strategic plan for rebuilding. Since 2022, the team has drafted 28 players, but almost none have established themselves as core contributors or trade assets. This indicates a failed development pipeline, leaving the roster without foundational pieces.
Adding to the complications is the questionable strategy of trading stars for draft picks. Without a willing trading partner, and with most players lacking trade value, this approach seems misguided. The Saints have no clear young stars or veteran leaders worth significant draft capital, forcing them into a cycle of stagnation.
