Hanson portrayed her protests as stemming from a sense of disenfranchisement among many Australians, who feel that their own national identity and history are being sidelined. She criticized what she sees as a growing emphasis on Indigenous land rights over the rights of the broader Australian population.
"To recognize that they are the traditional owners of the land is fine," Hanson conceded. "But when it goes further and kids are indoctrinated in schools, claiming they have more rights over the land than Australians who live here now — that causes division."
She argued that the ongoing emphasis on Indigenous recognition policies is contributing to societal fragmentation and accused some activists and policymakers of pushing divisive agendas.
