In 1901, the estate was sold to Frederick W. Schumacher, a successful immigrant and pharmaceutical executive. Under his ownership, the palatial residence transformed into a cultural hub—showcasing his art collection, luxurious furnishings, and opulent interiors that reflected his taste for refinement and elegance. Sadly, after his death in 1957, the mansion's fate was sealed. It was demolished in 1961, erased from the city’s physical and historical landscape, leaving only the land beneath.
