Since the movement's inception, 13 counties have approved various non-binding elections to begin the secession process. These include Sherman, Morrow, Union, Wallowa, Jefferson, Wheeler, Crook, Grant, Baker, Malheur, Aerie, Lake, and Clamath counties. Initially, 11 counties had supported the move; now, two more—Gilliam and Umatilla—are on the cusp, although their county clerks are delaying the process by refusing to permit signature gathering.
Despite these delays, the broad support in neighboring counties hints that the remaining holdouts may eventually join, escalating the movement's prospects.
