Part 8/10:

Beyond its aesthetic appeal, the Gieremia Lee House was a vibrant social and political hub. Its walls hosted prominent figures such as John Hancock and Samuel Adams, who debated and planned revolutionary endeavors within its rooms. The mansion was a reflection of the burgeoning independence movement, serving as a backdrop to countless gatherings that fueled the colonies’ push towards revolution.

A historic event of note occurred in April 1775 when British troops approached Lexington. Jeremiah Lee, despite his active support for the revolution, was reportedly ill and unable to join the initial skirmishes. Instead of confronting the British forces directly, he concealed himself in a cornfield alongside other founding fathers, later succumbing to illness and passing away.
