According to an internal memorandum obtained by the New York Post, ICE officials were instructed to dismiss cases against migrants who do not pose a security threat, allowing them to remain freely in the U.S. and reapply for asylum or other protections. In 2022 alone, over 102,500 asylum cases were dismissed—a tenfold increase compared to 2014—highlighting a dramatic shift in enforcement policies.
