Part 6/10:
A House Left Unfinished and Its Legacy
Tragically, Robert Dunsmuir passed away shortly before the castle’s completion, never stepping through its doors. However, his children took it upon themselves to complete the mansion for their mother, ensuring that his vision would be realized and preserved.
Visitors today are invited to explore the grand staircase that encircles the courtyard and ascend to the attic, where the house’s original charm remains alive. From here, the imagination can run wild—envisioning musicians playing in the cathedral-like hallways or family gatherings in the billiard room on the upper floor.
