The concept of quickly producing homes isn't entirely new. As early as 1908, consumers could browse Sears catalogs and order prefabricated houses. This idea of factory-built, component-based housing has existed for over a century, yet widespread adoption has been limited. Today, with a chronic housing shortage predicted to reach 4.5 million homes in the U.S. by 2025, the need for faster, more efficient building methods has become urgent.
