Kicker Goremian Yupeian, despite a notorious botched play in Super Bowl VII, contributed vital field goals throughout the season. Meanwhile, head coach Don Shula’s visionary leadership and halftime adjustments were instrumental in guiding Miami to perfection. Shula’s legendary career, topped with a Hall of Fame induction, ended in 2020 at age 90.
Howard Schnellenberger, the offensive innovator, crafted the attack that powered their undefeated run. His post-coaching career included national championships and program-building at multiple colleges.
