In Iraq, U.S. troops stationed at the al-Assad airbase were targeted with ballistic missiles and rockets, causing injuries among personnel and damages to the strategic installation. According to U.S. Central Command, most of the incoming projectiles were intercepted by defense systems, yet some managed to hit the base, resulting in traumatic brain injuries among U.S. service members and injuries to at least one Iraqi soldier.
