This debate isn’t isolated to the UK. Similar conversations are happening in Australia, where the Green Party and other political entities have expressed support for lowering the voting age. Senator Jordan Steel John tweeted, "Great to see the UK lowering the voting age to 16. The Greens reckon it's time for Australia to give 16 and 17-year-olds the right to vote." He has been advocating for this change since at least 2018, citing that young people's voices deserve representation.
