In the Swanton sector alone, over 6,000 individuals from 76 countries have been detained in just 11 months. The majority originate from Mexico, Guatemala, and Haiti, with a significant number of migrants crossing the northern border from Canada. In 2022, Canadian authorities reported approximately 39,000 of these migrants seeking refuge, mainly via the Quebec-New York corridor.
