Around this time, synthesizers, drum machines, and primitive computers were becoming accessible to the average consumer. With some money, you could purchase these devices and set up a modest home studio—a radical idea back then. Dave was the visionary genius behind this technical revolution; he had an extraordinary facility for recording and manipulating sound. I was more involved from a musical perspective, though admittedly somewhat technophobic.
