It's important to understand that pilot projects are inherently experimental. They serve as testing grounds for new ideas, technologies, and approaches, with the primary goal of learning what works and what doesn’t. As one industry veteran pointed out, in their 15 years working in IT infrastructure and automation, many projects—be they AI-related or otherwise—fail to deliver immediate business value. Some don't progress beyond the pilot phase because they don't fit the specific environment, while others may not move the needle enough to justify full-scale deployment.
