Status Games: The Human Drive for Recognition
Humans are inherently social beings—social status is a primary driver of behavior. Evidence suggests that most people prioritize elevating their status over material gains. A prestigious title, social recognition, or influence often confers more benefits than wealth itself.
Within this framework, five key types of status games emerge:
- Virtue Games: Signaling adherence to moral or ideological ideals.
