The ultimate vision extends beyond mere scale: self-organizing, self-improving agent swarms. These are systems where agents can not only perform tasks but also instantiate new agents, oversee the swarm’s operation, monitor ethics and legality, and adapt over time—forming a dynamic, autonomous ecosystem.
While this remains a goal, current technology is approaching such capabilities rapidly. The boundary between what is possible today and in the near future is blurring, with estimates suggesting that within a year, fully autonomous agent swarms could handle virtually any task connected via APIs—from managing data repositories to training models and beyond.
