Fit with the Phillies
The fit for Valdez in Philadelphia is strong in theory. Over the past few seasons, the Phillies' success in playoff runs has been heavily reliant on their starting pitching, especially their left-handed starters like Suarez, Nola, and Sanchez. During the NLDS against the Dodgers, the team's rotation performed well across the board, with multiple lefties demonstrating their value.
