Part 10/13:
Shapiro envisions a multi-step pipeline: starting with synopsis generation, followed by plot structure mapping, then scene creation, and finally script or prose development. While each phase can be handled reasonably well with current AI tools, chaining them into a seamless, automated novel-writing process remains beyond reach.
He also notes the potential of generative adversarial networks (GANs), where one AI acts as the 'generator' and another as the 'discriminator'—grading and filtering story outputs to improve quality intelligently. He experimented with such methods but found them computationally intensive and ultimately limited by current tech.
