Part 3/10:
Using GPT-3, Shapiro demonstrates how to prompt the model with a high-fantasy scene reminiscent of Tolkien’s style. He shows a sample paragraph describing the trees as sentinels and introduces characters like wizards and young protagonists. He replaces generic names such as "John" with more distinctive ones like "Stylus," and characters like a wizard named "Kaizax" instead of Gandalf to add variety.
He then runs the model to produce follow-up scenes, tweaking parameters like maximum tokens to ensure story segments are sufficiently long. As an example, the model quickly jumps into an adventurous quest involving a young boy named Silas, wizards, and dragons—standard fantasy tropes that serve as the canvas for further development.
