Part 3/10:
The Mets are acquiring Gerber primarily as a depth option. His arsenal includes a 94 mph four-seam fastball, an 85 mph slider, and a changeup around 87-88 mph. In limited MLB action, he's demonstrated an impressive strikeout potential, with nearly 11.2 K per nine innings, but inconsistent command — walking around 3 walks per nine. His biggest issue has been the home run rate; allowing approximately 1.83 homers per nine innings, a concern especially in the more hitter-friendly Citi Field.
