Part 9/13:
Robo-Taxi Network and Licensing Ambitions
Tesla’s autonomous vision revolves around a vertically integrated robo-taxi fleet. Elon Musk confirmed that Tesla plans to operate its own fleet, allowing customers to add their vehicles to Tesla’s network, thereby creating a vast, flexible ride-sharing ecosystem.
This concept isn’t limited to Tesla’s own vehicles. Musk indicated ongoing discussions with traditional automakers about licensing Tesla’s FSD software—possibly sealing deals within this year. The strategy suggests a multi-pronged approach: deploying Tesla vehicles as robo-taxis and licensing the tech to other OEMs, exponentially expanding their reach and revenue streams.
