Tesla’s approach encompasses deploying neural network inference computers in every car and continuously upgrading the fleet’s AI capabilities. Each Hardware 3 computer, introduced in 2019, is among the most potent inference systems on the planet, capable of running complex AI workloads. Dalma emphasized that these computers are still far from reaching their full potential—there's untapped performance within Hardware 3 that can be unlocked through software improvements. As Tesla adds more data and refines its neural nets, the AI's intelligence will exponentially increase.
