However, achieving Level 4 or higher is not solely about hardware and data—public perception and safety are also crucial. The extensive media coverage of accidents, especially instances involving Tesla vehicles, influences public trust. Even if Tesla vehicles are statistically safer, high-profile incidents skew perception and pose regulatory hurdles.
