An often-overlooked aspect of autonomous driving is the ethical dilemma—particularly the "trolley problem"—and the emotional response to accidents. As Tesla’s FSD becomes more capable, decisions driven by AI in emergency scenarios will need to balance safety, liability, and moral considerations.
The challenge becomes even more complex considering human behaviors like distracted driving and DUI, which currently outpace autonomous systems' ability to prevent accidents. Tesla’s technology might offer a mitigating factor but will not eliminate human error entirely.
