Critics argue that this exclusion is a mistake. If science aims to understand the depth and breadth of reality, then phenomena that challenge current paradigms should be studied with rigor, skepticism, and openness. Ignoring or dismissing such phenomena out of hand risks missing out on potentially transformative insights into consciousness, perception, and the nature of reality.
The fundamental point is that the absence of proof is not proof of absence. The scientific method must remain humble and flexible enough to explore phenomena that do not yet fit neatly into existing frameworks but are nonetheless compelling and persistent.
