With the fall of Assad’s government and the rise of insurgents, including former Islamic State and al-Qaeda affiliates, minority communities in Syria have become increasingly anxious about their security. The Druze, in particular, who are both a minority group in Syria and have a significant diaspora in Israel, have welcomed Israeli interventions aimed at protecting their brethren and securing their safety amid ongoing chaos.
