That equates to roughly 50 migrants per week—a drop in the bucket given the staggering numbers. Since Labour’s last general election victory in July, approximately 44,000 migrants have risked their lives to cross the Channel, reflecting the sheer scale of the crisis. Clearly, many critics and average citizens remain unimpressed by what they see as half-measures.
