In reality, Trump’s original speech included calls for peaceful support and constitutional processes. However, the BBC’s splice — which controversially merged the segments and edited visuals to match the audio — made it appear as though Trump was inciting violence. The audio was manipulated so that the later, more aggressive language about “fighting” was synchronized with visuals of the crowd, giving viewers a false impression.
