Utah Governor Spencer Cox has publicly stated that the suspect, Robinson, has chosen not to cooperate with investigators. Such non-cooperation is typically seen in criminal cases, as suspects often understand that anything they say can be used against them. Senior judicial analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano emphasized that while this reluctance might hinder the defense's ability to examine evidence, it does not significantly impede the prosecution’s case. According to him, the evidence against Robinson appears to be overwhelmingly strong, to the extent that he could be tried almost immediately if necessary.
