Part 4/13:
Britain's Brave New World: Suppression and Supposed Support
In Britain, laws are being enforced in unprecedented ways—arresting thousands for social media posts, even for expressing opposition to Hamas. For example, a blogger named Peter North was detained for simply saying "F Hamas," a terrorist organization, in a tweet. Similarly, a woman named Lucy Connolly faced a 31-month prison sentence for tweeting about the Manchester attack, mistakenly noting the perpetrator’s ethnicity and being too slow to delete her comments. These examples highlight how free speech is increasingly under attack, especially if it criticizes radical Islam or terrorist sympathies.
