Part 2/13:
The ICE facility in South Portland, just miles south of downtown, has been a focal point of unrest for over 100 days. Attempts by federal ICE agents to deport criminal illegals have ignited intense protests, especially from Antifa-affiliated groups. These protesters have bombed, graffitied, and even firebombed the facility, turning the area into a seeming war zone with boarded-up windows, graffiti, and nightly conflicts. Despite the severity of these incidents, local law enforcement, the Portland Police Bureau, has largely remained passive, issuing monitors rather than policing aggressively.
