Confronted With Violence: Evidence from the Ground
A significant portion of the discourse revolves around documented incidents of violence linked to Antifa. During the protests in Portland, protests allegedly involved attempted arson—such as efforts to set fire to federal buildings and police fences—and violent confrontations. Notably, there have been episodes where protesters attempted to attack federal officers with hammers and other weapons, and multiple instances of rioting lasting for months, including the infamous 170 nights of unrest in Portland.
