Traffickers would either kidnap these women directly or pay their families to send their daughters, claiming they would be taken for work in China. In reality, many of these women were forcibly taken across borders and subjected to trafficking. Once in China, they were often forced into marriages, compelled to have children to satisfy familial and societal pressures, and, in some cases, imprisoned or even killed. These women frequently disappear without a trace, highlighting the brutal nature of these trafficking networks.
