The core strategy is not to eliminate AI use but to change what competence looks like. If a student can simply produce a basic essay with AI assistance, that no longer demonstrates true mastery. Therefore, the emphasis must be on higher-order thinking skills—critical analysis, creativity, and the ability to apply knowledge in complex, unpredictable situations.
This new paradigm means designing assessments that challenge students to demonstrate their reasoning, problem-solving, and innovative capabilities. It isn't about doing away with knowledge; instead, it's about testing it in innovative, more demanding ways that AI can't easily replicate.
