The story begins with Mexico’s National Intelligence Center (CNI) informing Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) of a concerning trend. The CNI flagged that Spanish-speaking volunteers, mainly from Mexico and Colombia, were enlisting in Ukraine's International Legion. Unlike traditional foreign fighters motivated by ideology or patriotism, these individuals appeared primarily driven by curiosity to learn drone warfare skills. Their goal: to acquire specialized tactics such as FPV (First-Person View) drone operation, electronic warfare evasion, and weapons deployment techniques, which they could later weaponize back home.
