In essence, Disney's massive Fox purchase seems to be another episode of overpayment for assets that have not yet lived up to expectations. The company’s stagnating stock price, combined with limited success from its acquired properties, underscores a broader issue of strategic misjudgment.
Whether it is the Avatar franchise, Deadpool, Predator, or other Fox IPs, none have yet returned the kind of investment that would make the deal a clear success. Instead, what remains is a portfolio of assets that have, at best, offered incremental gains and, at worst, become a liability that Disney must manage without significant boost to its overall market value.
