Part 6/12:
Today, al-Qaeda maintains a significant presence in Afghanistan. Reports from the United Nations Security Council’s analytical support and sanctions monitoring team, last published in February, detail how the terror organization operates openly across multiple provinces. They run training camps in at least 13 of Afghanistan's 34 provinces, maintain safe houses and madrassas in five provinces, and possess weapons depots. These facilities are not clandestine or sporadic—they are embedded within the fabric of Afghan society, all documented by reputable international sources.
