Park officials have begun covering sensitive plants with blankets, pruning back vulnerable foliage, and possibly removing some marginal species to prevent frost damage. These measures are critical, as some plants used within the parks, like banana trees and other tropical flora, are not designed to survive prolonged cold snaps.
