Recent intelligence indicates a notable shift in where suspected terrorists are being apprehended. According to FBI Director Cash Patel, arrests of known or suspected terrorists at the Mexico-U.S. border have significantly decreased since January 20, 2025, with only two apprehensions during that period. Meanwhile, apprehensions at the northern border with Canada have surged, with 34 suspects caught crossing into the U.S., and over 140 suspected terrorists detained at northern points of entry in the first five months of 2025.
