Part 2/11:
According to Deadline Magazine’s Anthony Dealandro, Superman opened with approximately $122 million domestically, with some sources pegging the number slightly higher at $123 million. Warner Brothers reported a slightly lower figure but noted that Saturday’s numbers indicate a 33% drop from Friday, which included Thursday previews and early Amazon Prime streaming figures amounting to roughly $2.8 million. The studio's confidence is justified considering this marks the second $100+ million opening domestically for Warner Brothers this year, following the $162 million debut of the Minecraft movie. Overall, Warner Brothers now owns six of the top openings from this year, with Superman being the biggest for the studio’s DC division.
