Shortly after, Alysa Marante reportedly began private messaging Smash with hostile, aggressive messages. These direct messages (DMs) accused him of threatening her virtually and questioned his character, escalating from online pettiness to disturbing personal attacks. What makes this even more bizarre is that Marante allegedly found Smash’s wife’s Facebook profile and sent her disparaging messages, including a lengthy essay criticizing him and urging her to reconsider her marriage.
Smash described this behavior as completely unhinged, stating he had never responded to her DMs for fear of crossing any inappropriate boundaries. The situation grew bleaker when he realized that Marante had shared some of these private messages publicly, further humbling or exposing him to her followers.
