Beyond cognates, consider word families, which are groups of related words sharing a root. For example, from the root "organize": organize, organized, organizing, organization, disorganized. Learning these related forms simultaneously, within their natural sentence contexts, allows rapid expansion of both understanding and usage.
Associative Memorization for Difficult Words
While cognates and word families make learning easier, some words don't have obvious connections and can seem difficult. For these, mnemonic associations come to the rescue.
