Wish opened with a modest five-day domestic gross of approximately $31 million. The film's first week saw a decline from about $8.1 million on opening day (including previews) to just a few million in subsequent days. Its Monday performance was particularly dismal—less than $750,000—marking one of the worst starts for a Disney animated film in recent memory. To put this into perspective, Treasure Planet (2002)—a film with a $100 million budget—grossed just shy of $100 million globally, roughly a third of Wish’s production costs, and was considered a flop even then. Wish may not even reach that level before it exits theaters.
